Tell Pittsburgh City Council “NO ANNEXATION”

They need to hear from you

A required part of the Pennsylvania municipal annexation process is that the governing body of the annexing municipality, here, Pittsburgh, must approve of the annexation before the referendum goes to the ballot. We can tell them not to approve because we do not approve!

Update, Feb. 9, 2022: You told PCC you didn’t want annexation. You told them with 555 calls in about a dozen weeks that you didn’t want it, and the 2021 annexation petition is ended. Read more here. The system has been disabled for now but we’ll keep the rest of this page around because we might need it again!

We’ve worked deployed a great phone-based system called CallPower for contacting one or more Pittsburgh City Council members in consecutive calls. Dial one number and be connected to as many council members as you’re willing to talk to, up to nine.

Call 412-###-####

…or type your phone number in this field and click Call Now to receive a phone call that will automate connecting you to a few council members. Listen and follow the instructions provided. You’ll press * instead of hanging up when you’re done with one council member. You can end the call process at any time simply by hanging up.

And Say This

All you really need to say is:

  • “I am a Wilkinsburg resident.” (or Pittsburgh, if you’re a Pittsburgh resident ally!)
  • “Please do not support the annexation of Wilkinsburg.”

That’s it! If you want, you can give your personal reasons why you don’t want the annexation.

They might ask you for some other information to log the call. It’s important to keep the conversation short and to the point.

Alternatively, Write
